Two posts in two days, crazy!!!
It is possible that I could leave you all with the impression that being in Florence for three weeks has been all roses and sunshine, but you should know that there were also bumps along the road.
I can’t tell you how many times I was at my edge. Frustrated and even a bit angry that I couldn’t express myself properly in Italian. I have learned ALOT of Italian, but I still don’t know enough to have a nuanced conversation. Feeling stupid is not my strong suit.
I have recently reconnected with an old friend, something I am really excited about. Through our back and forth emails she gave me some advice. “Florence is something you will always remember and you will be stronger for doing it. Let yourself feel all of the emotions, the struggles, the smiles, the anger and the laughter; it is all part of the experience.”
Today is my last day in Florence. Leaving tomorrow will be sad, but I take solace that this is just the start of something new for me. Now I just have to figure out what that is.
I leave you with pictures of a few of my favorite things.
The best breakfast and only 2 Euros.
